We rented Kiss on the creek cabin in Gatlinburg Tn. Let me say, the cabin is exactly as described on their web site. When we opened the door, it smelled of pine sol, which we thought the cabin was clean but no it wasn’t that clean. The floors were filthy, like they hadn’t been swept or mopped in awhile. One of the kitchen dinette chairs was about to lose the legs off of the chair. I always bring disinfect wipes with us and I definitely used them on the counter tops, had dust and crumbs on them. The extra bathroom toilet paper holder was about to fall off the wall. The log bed was beautiful but very hard to get in and out of. I’m not sure if we would book another cabin through Elk Springs Resort again. For the price we paid to rent this cabin, we expected everything to be on point and perfect but sadly it wasn’t.

My husband and I were looking forward to a relaxing stay in the cabin. Unfortunately our first night there, the power went off due to snow which left us with no heat. Power was out for about 36 hours. Management did not offer any refund or offer to put us up anywhere else.Our daughter and son-in-law were staying in another cabin through another agency and they were given a complimentary night for future use. I realize this incident couldn't be helped, but we didn't feel valued as customers. The cabin is in a very nice location. Very peaceful.

It was a very beautiful cabin. And they promised what they showed. However, we weren’t told of the rule about setting the AC below 70. Which made the cabin incredibly stuffy and hot during the night. We couldn’t move the air because there was no fans in the room and it was a few degrees colder than 70 during the night so the AC wouldn’t kick on. We called 4 times for them to ask if we could but they refused to let us set it below 70. We didn’t sleep at all at night and were more tired leaving than when we got there.

We were disappointed to find the view faced a parking lot full of school busses and while we waited 5 hours for the hot tub to get warm enough to get in the neighbors dogs were barking nonstop. What was most disappointing was the trash can was completely full and not taken out before we got there and when I went to go take out the lock on the garbage area is so rusted I could barely open or close it. On top of all of that the water was brown in the toilets and from the kitchen sink. For the amount of money I paid this was not acceptable AT ALL and I left a message with my comments and for someone to contact me but no one ever has and I would like a refund for this experience.

We were aware this cabin was not on elk springs resort property, but it felt like the longest drive from downtown back to the cabin. This has been our 3rd year booking with Elk Springs, and I am not too impressed with our stay.

1. The floor was messed up from someone previously staying. We pay lots of money for a cabin and I understand things happen, but telling me a little piece of the floor is messed up is a big difference from what we had. The laundry room door would not shut due to the boards being warped. They did not apologize or offer a discount on our stay. Which made me upset considering we are repeating guest - again this is our 3rd time booking with elk springs.

2. Secondly the light on the porch did not work. We didn’t call because it was manageable to not have.

3. They told us our cabin was ready and when we got there it was not - maintenance was still there. We had to drive back to town because he said to give him a hour. (Mind you this is a long drive for a hour)

4. Only 4 towels and wash cloths for 2 people staying 8 days. I strongly remember this was not the case on elk springs resort property. They did assure us that this is the normal and a starter supply - due to washer and dryer I did not argue. Besides again - this was manageable.

5. The window on the porch clearly is bent and looks like someone tried to break in the property. This was sketchy and made me feel uncomfortable.

6. When we walked barefoot in the cabin our feet was dirty - made me question the cleanliness. I’m pondering on weather to come back to elk springs next year considering this. Yes it is a first, but we could have been accommodated better.

Other than that - our theater room was nice, hot tub looked clean, and plenty of firewood for our fireplace. Appliances were nicely cleaned. Creek side was beautiful, but after this stay I found I prefer mountainside and location of elk springs resort prope
