Host Cancellation Policy

This local host has a no cancellation policy. Their policy is no refunds and no rescheduling. This enables you to receive a full refund, less the cost of the guarantee, up to 30 days prior to your arrival for a 1 to 4 bedroom cabin, and up to 60 days prior to arrival for 5 bedrooms and larger. Once inside those time periods, the Vacation Guarantee would allow you to reschedule your stay. This is an optional charge post-booking that you can elect to pay directly to the local host company.

Great view but cleanliness lacking

View was excellent and overall the cabin was nice but not as clean as should have been. When entering the location there was cobwebs hanging off the light fixtures and cobwebs in the corners that looked unclean. Had to sweep the cobwebs and dead spider bugs from around the sofa and the arcade game, spiders with webs behind the trash cans. Alot of dirt built up on the steps that i would think should have been cleaned. Extra blankets in the downstairs dresser that were not folded and smelled so we did not use the dresser. Remove missing batteries for the downstairs tv so i had to remove the ones from my camera for it to work because the buttons on the tv didnt work. Upstairs bedroom closet had rug and blankets thrown in the floor and a box with a tv sitting on shelf (dont know if tv in box or just empty box). I think these are items that should have been folded and put away so full use of the closet was available or put in a storage room.

Dusty cabin

This cabin was dusty dirty and still had the Christmas tree up and it's May. Also very dangerous getting up there what they don't tell you I is bring food because you won't want to go back down disappointed.

Emerald City Lights - not clean

On a scale of 1-10 for clean, cabin & surroundings would rate a 5. Trash thrown all around cabin, upstairs closet used as a junk room, no closet for downstairs bedroom, Windows not cleaned since cabin was constructed, would not recommend.

Needs attention

We spent around $500 per night for this cabin that had roaches, outdated tv with two remotes - one to turn on tv and adjust volume/the other to change channels. 1st night there lost programming in middle of a show and had a roach show up in our pizza box for next round of pizza. 2nd night upon returning from dinner noticed moved furniture and refrigerator along with a cigar label resting on lip of dog’s water bowl. Clothing in one piece of luggage looked like it had been gone through. It appeared to us an uninvited guest with a key had entered the cabin. Next day we requested lock be changed on entry door. We were told it required a special door lock that HD or Lowe’s didn’t have. It was a standard size entry door. Needless to say our last 3 of 4 nights sleep was not very restful as one might expect. I noticed the entry door had daylight showing through bottom right and top left corners - enough to let in almost any size bug or even a mouse. I normally don’t give many nor go to this extent on reviews. In it’s heyday it was surely very nice, but this cabin definitely needs attention.

Cabin Not Up to Par

My husband and I have been vacationing in Gatlinburg for 25 years and always rent a cabin. When booking a cabin in December, we decided to try Aunt Bug's Cabins. This cabin was a HUGE disappointment. The cabin itself was perfect, but very neglected. As soon as we arrived, I started feeling ill (throat tightening up & Headache) as I have a severe mold allergy. The 3rd floor shower was covered in thick mold. I emailed Aunt Bug's, but did not get a reply until the next day stating that they would send the cleaning person back out. But by that time, I had already sent my husband out for cleaning supplies so we could start working on the shower. We had to keep the door open to ventilate the room for about 2 hours. There was toothpaste spray all over the bathroom mirror and dust throughout the cabin. None of the corners had been cleaned for quite some time. My husband walks around barefoot, and his feet were black. Most shocking was a prescription pill found on the floor that any child or animal could have swallowed. Could you imagine. We found old coffee grinds under the coffee maker & used soap on jacuzzi tub. The jets were covered in mold as well. When the 1st floor jacuzzi tub was filled up & jets turned on, mold shot out into the water. The dining room chairs were sticky as well. After spending an evening of our vacation cleaning, I went to lay down, turned the ceiling fan on, and pieces of dust fell from the fan onto the bed, so we had to clean that too. The fan dust was so thick that it probably hadn't been cleaned in over a year or 2. Every fan was this way. We then went online to read some reviews and found that others had the same issues with this cabin. This was by far the filthiest place we have ever rented. Several emails were sent to Aunt Bug's about the issues and requested the Housekeeping Fee be credited back to us, we felt that was the least they could do, but no one has replied or even called. I guess they just do not care.
