Overrated Cabin

This is our 5th time renting a cabin, 3rd with Elk Springs and was very disappointed. Cabin was not ready at check in and we waited 30minutes past before we revived the code to check in and we received it by calling not text/email as stated we would. We had to report problems with what we thought was the satellite but apparently was the TV going bad. Thanksgiving evening we were going to enjoy the hot tub but instead had to call maintenance because the temp on the hot tub wouldn't increase, advised they would contact a vendor to come out on Friday and would give us a call, still waiting for that call, last was the soaking tub upstairs, all the jets were facing upwards ( not something we would normally look at prior to) and it soaked the area and the water never got hot, so it was like being in a pool. This trip was during Thanksgiving and has to be one of the worse that we have experienced with lodging after all this was advertised as a luxury cabin and we have stayed in other luxury cabins and there was no comparison.

Mountain Glory

We stayed in this same cabin 5 years ago on our honeymoon. The cabin was exactly the same, no updates but still in good shape. Very disappointed to find two new constructions being built right on top of this “secluded” cabin & entire construction team waking us up at 7am Saturday morning with loud dump trucks and machinery running all day. The turn around area in front of the house was torn out and difficult to park our car. We were going to bring our truck & enclosed trailer with quads that we brought last time, thankfully we didn’t because there was no warning of the construction.

Disappointed

When we arrived to the cabin and went in to check it out we found the couch up in the loft covered in ants (dead and alive). They were all over the floor and rug in front of the bed. We immediately called to see what could be done. We were told there were no other cabins and someone would be there shortly to spray and take care of the ants. We waited an hour and decided to go to the local grocery store since it was getting late. When we returned the ants were cleaned up. However the next day the couch and floor was covered with them. Luckily we brought a can of Lysol and sprayed around the bed and it kept them away. We ended up buying ant traps to catch them the best we could and kept all of our clothes in our suitcases so we wouldn’t take them home with us. Also it would have been nice to know that three other cabins were being built right next to our cabin. The road is extremely narrow and it made it difficult to get out at times but the contractors were very nice about moving vehicles out of the way so we could get through. The jacuzzi tub in the loft was useless because the hot water would run out before the tub would get a quarter of the way full. I have stayed at other cabins with this company with no issues but this cabin was very disappointing for what it costs.

Pictures Posted To Advertise Cabin Were Very Deceiving.

We showed up to a cabin that was very different from the pictures used to advertise the cabin itself.

Promising, But Quite A Letdown.

Cabin as a whole seemed very promising. Location, view, layout is great. But unfortunately the cabin is in extreme need of a deep cleaning. Cobwebs, dust, and grime everywhere. On top of that, the jacuzzi tub was spewing out black buildup from the jets. Maintenance was contacted and attempted to clesn, but after a handful of attempts, the tub was unusable. The fireplace also did not work. Maintenance attempted a repair, but was unsuccessful. The main picture window that overlooks the mountains is extremely dirty, enough to affect the view in sunlight. So multiple amenities were either unusable or hindered greatly. Blinds are broken, curtain rods hanging, barstools to high to even sit at the bar. Lighting all around the cabin is poorly placed or insufficient. Communication with property management was all over the place. Cleaning was sent when maintenance was requested. Multiple calls with each person not aware of the previous conversations, had to explain what was actually going on each time. I had high hopes, and I think it could be a great experience, but a lot is needed to get the place in proper order.
